Capital One

Hispanic Brand Graphic Designer

Overview

As the sole Graphic Designer on my team, I provided creative build services for transcreated Spanish intent. I integrated Spanish copy into English layouts, created presentations to be reviewed by stakeholders, and handed off finalized files.

Besides my day-to-day responsibilities, I also did administrative work to support the Brand team. This included putting together presentations and templates, collaborating with bilingual transcreators, preforming relevant research and drafting/finalizing ongoing branded documents and standards.

Creating Onboarding Documents

Onboarding documents designed for my role and Spanish Implementation Copywriters, built in Google Slides for easy updates. Content was adapted from Google Docs, with collaboration from copywriters to ensure comprehensive coverage of both roles. Each document included 20+ slides, structured for ongoing updates as responsibilities evolved.

Creating Onboarding Documents

One of my first tasks in this role was to create onboarding documents for both my role and the Spanish Implementation Copy Writers. These documents were designed using Google Slides, incorporating information taken from a Google Doc. I collaborated closely with the copywriters to make sure we covered all the basics and finer details of both positions. Each document included more than 20 slides, designed to be regularly updated to reflect evolving role requirements.

BRANDING

Developing A Unique Look

A style guide designed to unify team presentations and documents while maintaining alignment with Capital One’s brand standards. Personalized team avatars developed for use in Zoom meetings and email signatures, contributing to a cohesive and recognizable team identity.

BRANDING

Developing A Unique Look

Among numerous stakeholders and internal teams, our team aimed to distinguish ourselves. My role in this initiative involved developing a unique style guide that unified all our presentations and guidelines. Based on the official Capital One brand standards, this guide focused on key elements essential to our identity. Additionally, I designed several branded Google Slide templates that could be customized to suit various purposes. As a personal touch, I created avatars for each team member, which could be used in Zoom meetings or email signatures. While optional, this cohesive approach garnered attention from other teams who quickly recognized our unified look.

LOGO DESIGN

working with other teams

Internal teams requested updated logo designs, leading to a process of drafting creative briefs, collaborating with team leaders, and refining concepts through multiple iterations. Final logos were delivered in various formats, ensuring versatility for both digital and print applications.

LOGO DESIGN

Designing For Stakeholders

The recognition our team received for our avatars opened doors for me to network with other internal teams and stakeholders. This led to requests for logo designs, as many teams either didn’t have one or had outdated versions. The process included drafting creative briefs and conducting multiple meetings with team leaders to brainstorm the initial concept and refine the final design. I delivered the logos in various formats—with and without backgrounds, suitable for digital and print use, and in full color and one-color options—allowing teams the flexibility to utilize them as needed.
